A traditional built up felt roof shown above.

If installed correctly can and will last for many years, contrary to what many self professed experts in the building trade say about them, over 10 years or more.

In truth most flat felt roofs fail because of substandard workmanship, the wrong choice of product, or insufficient layers of felt. Failing to seal the joints correctly, or not moulding the fashings into the wall properly are just a few common faults.

So why chose a traditional felt roof?

  • Price. Traditional flat felt roofs are still one of the cheapest roofs to install.

  • They are reliable for 10 years or more.

  • They look  cosmetically appealing.

  • They are very easily repaired.

All my felt roofs come with a written  ten year guaratee.

Why chose a new Rubber Roof?

(shown below in the opposite column)

  • Cosmetically appealing.

  • The same colour of a dark grey slate looks natural and doesn’t easily show dirt.

  • The smooth synthetic rubber finish does not require ballast or chippings that have an annoying habit of blocking gutters and downpipes.

  • RubberBond™ does not support moss growth. It not only looks good on day one but also stays looking good even after 30+ years.

  • The additional thickness of FleeceBack™ helps to hide the negative of the existing deck or finish.

  • Rubber easily bends with no stress, to follow the contours of the roof, up stands to walls, check curb edges, skylights, pipes, terminations into gutters, etc.

RubberBond has over 200% flexibility so will easily accommodate building movement.
